Cookie Policy

Effective date: 15 October 2026

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store, so that the site or another company can recognise that browser later. Similar technologies do the same job by other means: storage built into the browser, invisible images that report back when loaded, and scripts that read properties of your device.

This page lists each of those technologies, says whether wideshift.online uses it, and explains the one thing that does happen when you read a page here. It is published by Janaland, s.r.o., Pod Habrovou 445/3, Hlubočepy, 152 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic, company registration 03031489.

What we checked

Cookies set by this site
Not used. This site asks your browser to store nothing, on any page, including the checklists.
Cookies set by others through this site
Not used. No third party has code on these pages, so nobody is in a position to set a cookie through them. There are no analytics, advertising, social or video embeds and no session identifiers.
localStorage
Not used. Nothing is written to your browser's local storage, which is why the checklists do not remember which boxes you ticked.
sessionStorage
Not used. Nothing is kept for the duration of your visit either.
IndexedDB
Not used. No database is created in your browser.
Tracking pixels
Not used. There are no images, beacons or invisible elements loaded from another server for measurement or any other purpose.
Browser fingerprinting
Not used. We run no script that collects device, font, canvas or screen characteristics to recognise you.
Web fonts and third-party scripts
Not used. The pages use typefaces already installed on your device, and the only JavaScript on the site is a short first-party file that opens the mobile menu and triggers your browser's own print dialog. The site makes zero requests to any other server.
Server access logs
Used. Our hosting provider records each request to the server, as described below. This is the only entry on this list that is used.

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner exists so you can agree, or refuse, to something being stored on your device. Nothing is stored on your device by this site, so there is nothing to agree to. Showing a banner here would ask you to consent to something that is not happening, which would be untrue as well as irritating.

What does happen when you read a page

Your browser asks our hosting provider's server for the page, and the server writes a line in its access log: the IP address that asked, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the user-agent string that identifies the browser and operating system. Those logs are kept for 30 days and are used for security, abuse prevention and fault diagnosis.

That is the whole of it. No profile is built, nothing follows you to another site, and the log does not know whether you have visited before except insofar as an IP address repeats. The privacy policy sets out the same facts in more detail and the two pages agree.

The checklists do not remember your ticks

The boxes beside each checklist item are drawn with CSS. They are not form controls, nothing is recorded when you click them, and there is no localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, fingerprinting or pixel behind them. If you want to keep your answers, print the checklists page and write on it.

After you follow an affiliate link

Our affiliate disclosure explains where the paid links are. Once you follow one, you are on someone else's website: Star Stable Online's own site, and the affiliate network that operates the link, may set cookies or use similar technologies on their own domains, typically to record that the referral came from us. Janaland, s.r.o. does not control those cookies and cannot switch them off for you. Their own cookie and privacy notices are the place to check what they set and why.

How to block or clear cookies in any browser

Every current browser lets you see what is stored, delete it, and refuse future storage. The controls sit in the browser's settings, usually under a heading such as privacy, security, site settings or site data, and they can be applied to all sites or to one site at a time. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards storage when the window closes.

Blocking cookies everywhere will break sites that genuinely need them, such as anything you log in to. It will not change anything on wideshift.online, because this site stores nothing either way.

If that ever changes

We do not plan to introduce cookies. If we ever do, this page will be rewritten first, with an updated effective date and an honest description of each cookie, its purpose and its lifetime, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before any cookie is set. We will not set anything first and explain afterwards.
