Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 October 2026

This policy explains how Janaland, s.r.o. handles personal information in connection with the website at wideshift.online. The responsible entity is Janaland, s.r.o., Pod Habrovou 445/3, Hlubočepy, 152 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic, company registration 03031489, contactable at info@wideshift.online. Where this policy says "we", it means that company.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. Because the course on this site is written for readers in Australia, the policy is set out as a walkthrough of those thirteen principles, followed by the matters that do not belong to a single principle.

This policy covers wideshift.online and nothing else. The affiliate link on this site leads to a website operated by another company, and other links lead to regulators and vendors. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not apply to them.

APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information

This page is our privacy policy, it is linked from the footer of every page, and it is written to be read rather than endured. We keep our handling simple on purpose: the site has no forms, no accounts and no tracking, so the amount of personal information involved is small and easy to describe. Questions about this policy go to info@wideshift.online.

APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity

You can read every page of this course without identifying yourself. We do not ask who you are, and nothing on the site requires a name. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonymous email address. The one exception is a request for access to or correction of personal information, where we may need enough information to be satisfied that we are dealing with the right person.

APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information

We solicit personal information in exactly one way: you choose to send an email to info@wideshift.online. That email contains your address, any name you include, your message and any attachment.

Separately, and not by solicitation, our hosting provider keeps standard server access logs when a page is requested. Those logs contain the IP address making the request, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the user-agent string your browser supplies.

Nothing else is collected. There is no contact form, no newsletter, no account, no sign-up, no quiz and no progress tracking; the checklists do not record what you tick. The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, no advertising tags, no profiling and no cross-site tracking, and loads no web fonts, scripts or images from any other server. Your browser requests pages from this site and from nowhere else.

APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information

If an email sends us personal information we did not ask for and do not need in order to reply — details about other people, documents, or information unrelated to the question — we delete it where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, and otherwise we treat it under this policy.

APP 5 — Notification of the collection of personal information

This policy is that notification. It states who we are, what is collected, why, how long it is kept, who else receives it, that it may be stored outside Australia, and how to ask for access, correction or a complaint. The mailto link on the contact page points here, so the notice is available before you write.

APP 6 — Use or disclosure of personal information

Server logs are used for three purposes: keeping the site secure, preventing and investigating abuse, and diagnosing faults. Emails are used to reply to you and to deal with the matter raised.

We do not use either for anything else. Personal information is never sold, rented, traded or shared for marketing. We disclose it only to the service providers named under APP 8 below, who process it on our behalf, and to authorities where the law requires us to.

APP 7 — Direct marketing

We do not carry out direct marketing. There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no course reminder, and your email address is never used to send you anything other than a reply to what you wrote.

APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure of personal information

Two service providers handle information for us: our hosting provider, which operates the server that serves these pages and keeps the access logs, and our email service provider, which carries and stores messages sent to our address. They are the only recipients.

Both may store or process data outside Australia, including in locations we do not control from day to day. We do not have a specific country to name for either provider in this policy, so the honest statement is that your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.

APP 9 — Adoption, use or disclosure of government related identifiers

This principle has almost no application here: we do not adopt, use or disclose any government related identifier, such as a tax file number or a driver licence number, and we never ask for one.

APP 10 — Quality of personal information

The only personal information we hold that could be inaccurate is what you have written to us yourself. If something we hold about you is wrong, out of date or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it.

APP 11 — Security of personal information

The site is served over HTTPS. There is no database behind it and no submitted content is stored, because nothing can be submitted. The hosting account and the mailbox are accessible only to people working for Janaland, s.r.o., using individual credentials. We make no claim to hold any certification or to comply with any particular security standard, because we do not.

Information is destroyed or de-identified when it is no longer needed, in line with the retention periods set out below.

APP 12 — Access to personal information

You may ask what personal information we hold about you. Email info@wideshift.online with "Privacy request" in the subject line. There is no charge for asking, and we respond within 30 days. In practice the answer is usually either the thread of emails you have sent us, or nothing at all.

APP 13 — Correction of personal information

You may ask us to correct personal information we hold. Use the same address and subject line. We respond within 30 days, and if we decide not to make a correction we tell you why and note your request on the record.

Retention periods

Server access logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course. Emails to info@wideshift.online, with their attachments, are kept for 24 months after the last message in the conversation, unless they are needed for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim, in which case they are kept until that matter ends.

Affiliate links and what happens when you click one

This site carries paid affiliate links, described in full on our affiliate disclosure page. When you follow one, you leave wideshift.online. The destination site, operated by Star Stable Online's publisher, and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains to record that the visit came from us. That happens on their sites and under their own privacy notices, not under this policy, and we have no control over it.

What we receive back is a commission report from the network: counts and amounts used to reconcile payments. We do not seek, and do not want, information that identifies individual readers, and we make no attempt to connect any report to any visit to this site.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, write to info@wideshift.online with "Privacy complaint" in the subject. We acknowledge complaints and answer them within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, which explains what the OAIC can consider and how to lodge a complaint.

Data breaches

If we become aware of unauthorised access to, or disclosure or loss of, personal information we hold, we assess it promptly. Where it is likely to result in serious harm, we notify the people affected and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and we tell you what was affected and what you can do about it.

Children

This site is written for adults — parents, carers and adult players — and is not directed at people under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because the site has no forms or accounts there is nothing here that would identify a child. If a child has written to us and a parent or carer asks us to delete that message, we will.

If you are in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom

Janaland, s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation also applies to our handling of personal data. Our legal basis for keeping server access logs is our legitimate interest in the security, integrity and correct operation of the site. Our legal basis for handling the content of your email is that it is necessary to take steps at your request and to respond to your enquiry. We do not rely on consent for anything, because there are no cookies, no tracking and no marketing to consent to.

Where the GDPR applies, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our supervisory authority is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Czech Republic (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), uoou.gov.cz. If you are in Australia, the OAIC route above is the relevant one.

Changes to this policy

If we revise this policy, we update the effective date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we flag it in a short note at the top of this page for 30 days so that returning readers can see what changed.
